After the botulinum toxin procedure, we observe the effect of muscle immobilization after 5-6 days. We get the final result in 2 weeks. It is from the second to the third week that you can make a correction and introduce Botox where it is lacking.

But even with successful implementation of the procedure and maintaining all correction periods, there are cases of dissatisfaction with the result on the part of patients. The patient does not always see the result in advance. Quite often, the idea of the effect in the patient’s mind differs from what we get after the procedure.

For example, patients often cannot convey surprise with facial expressions. This is the predicted effect of botulinum toxin. If we immobilize the forehead to remove wrinkles, then naturally the patient will not be able to make a surprise by raising the eyebrows with the help of the frontalis muscle. Some people agree to this, but others need complete facial expressions to convey emotions.

It should be immediately noted that removing Botox is more difficult than introducing it. The most rational thing would be, if the procedure was performed correctly, to simply wait until the effect of Botox wears off and then not do it further. But if it is still necessary to restore muscle contractions as early as possible, then a whole arsenal of means may be required.

Forehead area

The most common area of correction using botulinum toxin is the forehead. The frontalis muscle itself is quite strong, and its contraction force is great. We inject a considerable amount of the drug into this area to immobilize it. It will take longer to remove the drug from the area. The most important thing to note is that in order to remove Botox, we need to increase the blood supply to the area. We also know that Botox does not like high temperatures, and, therefore, thermal effects on the area where Botox is administered will help reduce the duration of the effect.

At home, you can massage the forehead area. This will improve microcirculation and promote the rapid removal of botulinum toxin. Visiting baths and saunas will also shorten the effect time of Botox. Drinking alcoholic beverages also reduces the duration of exposure to botulinum toxin.

Physiotherapeutic procedures, such as microcurrents and magnetic therapy, will also help improve trophic functions in the affected area and promote the disappearance of Botox.

In the arsenal of cosmetologists, there are cosmetology devices, the action of which is based on phototherapy or laser therapy. By carrying out such procedures, you can significantly reduce the effect of botulinum toxin in the muscle. For the patient, the procedure is quite painless, but the energy that is transferred to the muscle is significant and allows local heating of the frontal muscle, which helps to reduce the effect of Botox.

There are also medications – a group of anticholinesterase drugs. They improve nerve conduction in the muscle and act as an antagonist to botulinum toxin.

Mesotherapy and plasma therapy will help improve nutrition in the area where Botox is administered and reduce its effect.

Eye area

If we talk about the Botox procedure in the eye area, in a portion of the periorbital muscle, then if you want to remove the effect, all the methods described above are applicable. However, with one caveat, that everything should be gentle and with an obligatory emphasis on protecting the eye itself.

From flashes of light, for example, or high temperatures. An experienced doctor knows these subtleties very well and always follows all precautions. If we talk about effectiveness, then a decrease in indicators and measures of influence in the eye area will not in any way affect the speed of Botox convergence, for the reason that botulinum toxin is injected into the eye area several times less than in the forehead area.

It is also important to note that any infectious disease with a rise in body temperature and the use of antibiotics reduce the duration and durability of the results from botulinum toxin. But for reasonable reasons, they are not used as forced actions to eliminate the effect of Botox.
