It is generally accepted that the level of a person’s financial well-being naturally stems from the surrounding socio-economic environment and the external circumstances in which he lives.
But, as numerous studies show, the ability (or, conversely, inability) to provide oneself with a comfortable, materially successful life is determined primarily by character traits. And the main thing here is the difference in psychological attitudes – whether a person is focused on a happy, prosperous life or on basic survival. This is what primarily determines whether he will earn good money or not.
A person with a poverty mindset
A person with a poverty mindset usually cannot imagine what it would be like to have a substantial amount of money in your bank account and be able to afford to live large. And it’s not even because he doesn’t want to earn a lot; He may want something, but in his mind, financial well-being and a comfortable life are like something from another planet, like some kind of curiosity that does not fit into his own worldview.
This perception of money and large earnings leads to the fact that a person begins to avoid opportunities through which his income can significantly increase. He simply does not know what to do with a lot of money and how to decide what to spend it on, so he subconsciously chooses a low-paying job, but with a stable income.
People with a poverty mindset are afraid to take risks and prefer consistency – they rarely change jobs, do not strive for career advancement and do not take part in new projects, even those that promise a guaranteed good income. If such a person decides to change jobs, then, as a rule, he is looking for the same position with the same range of duties and responsibilities, with the same salary, and does not believe that he can be worthy of more.
And even when such a person lives in a country with a favorable socio-economic situation, he prefers to “sit on benefits”, without considering opportunities that would allow him to earn money much greater than the amount of benefits received.
A person with a wealth mindset
It’s a completely different matter for a person with a wealth mindset. He quickly acquires necessary and useful connections and contacts, grows and develops professionally, periodically learns something new (attends specialized courses, receives a second education, etc.). He can easily change jobs, and to a more profitable one, and he does this not at random, but through a thorough analysis of the current labor market, taking into account the demand for his skills.
When such a person feels that he has reached the limit in his current professional field, he finds a new hobby, which over time also becomes a job, and a profitable one. Therefore, it often happens that people focused on high earnings prefer to leave a paid, but already boring job, for a new, more interesting one, which in their case soon begins to generate considerable and stable income.
Wealth-oriented people can not only easily and quickly change jobs, but also come up with their own business, without being afraid to start their business from scratch. Sometimes such people are even capable of, as they say, giving up everything and going to the ends of the world, but even there they can find a way to make good money, thanks to self-confidence and a positive attitude.
What’s the result
We can conclude that poverty and wealth are not in circumstances, but in the head. In thoughts, attitudes, worldview. Earnings that barely allow you to make ends meet, or a high income is not so much the influence of chance and the external environment, but rather a conscious choice of a person in accordance with his position in life.
Undoubtedly, financial well-being and a reliable material rear greatly simplify and decorate life. The opportunity to afford a spontaneous trip to any corner of the world, buy a VIP ticket to a concert of your favorite band, give a generous gift to a loved one, etc. – all this makes life bright, meaningful and fulfilling. And the absence of a painful choice between, for example, a visit to the dentist and buying new shoes to replace leaky ones, undoubtedly greatly improves the quality of life.
It is noteworthy that both wealthy and low-income people often live in the same social environment and work in the same professional field. But if two people are engaged in the same business and, starting in equal conditions, come to different monetary results, it means that there is a big difference in their psychological mood.
Financially successful people, for the most part, do not have any brighter talents and abilities compared to others; they simply know how to not miss opportunities and “take everything from life” in the good sense of the word. That is, to realize yourself, and to benefit other people, and to make good money from it. Proof of this are successful businessmen who know how to earn (and in an absolutely honest way) a lot of money even during periods of serious economic crises.
