Have you ever taken a test where certain answers and their number could tell about your psychotype, character, attitude towards something. Or a drawing where your vision speaks about the inner world of a person. So, physiognomy is also a unique method for determining a personality type, only the image is a face, and the details that together create a psychological portrait are facial features.
Why a face?
The face is a mirror of the body: brain signals, the experience of our life. Such a direction of psychology as psychosomatics is responsible for the fact that appearance suffers through behavior. And, somatopsychics says that the disease affects the human condition. For example: Chernobyl radiation affected the human thyroid gland, and this affected behavior. And both directions are interconnected, like our entire body.
What can you see from the face?
Diseases of internal organs may be reflected on the face. For example: the area between the eyebrows speaks of the liver; if there is a central vertical wrinkle in this area, you need to be attentive to this organ or to alcohol. The effect of bulging eyes indicates the activity of the thyroid gland. A thin bridge of the nose with a small chin indicates low stress resistance.
There are many other signs on the face and, depending on their nature, it is possible to diagnose diseases of the reproductive system, problems with the gastrointestinal tract, nervous and endocrine systems, as well as many other disorders.
But physiognomy, as a direction of body-oriented psychology and psychodiagnostics, does not make diagnoses. As we know, all diseases are caused by nerves. And their manifestation may indicate a special character trait of a person. The liver and kidneys are the body’s filters, so perhaps a person is vindictive or does not tolerate conflicts well, scrolling through them in his head for a long time.
Low resistance to stress indicates that a person in a difficult situation can be hot-tempered and touchy, depending on other facial features. So, you need to be careful with him and not make spontaneous decisions.
When the thyroid gland is diseased, it can cause hormonal imbalances, which can dramatically change a person’s behavior and incline them to symptoms of depression. All this must be taken into account when interacting with your interlocutor.
Opportunities in professions
By looking at the face, one can determine both a person’s current profession and his or her potential for implementation in a particular type of activity.
For example, you can recognize a true accountant by his face. So, his features will include: a straight, non-emotional forehead, smooth, clearly drawn eyebrows, dominance of the left hemisphere of the brain, which is responsible for logic and exact sciences. This can be signaled by two eyebrow wrinkles, or rather a feature of one of them. The right wrinkle in the eyebrow area may be one in this area or longer than the one located on the left side of the base of the eyebrow. And the right one, because the active hemisphere activates the work of another part of the body.
Creative professions, such as designer, artist, reflect the brightness of other facial features. For example, in men it is the hairline of the forehead area in the shape of the letter “M”. Such a person is creative, thinking about tomorrow. This form is often seen among the heads of enterprises that are associated with the creation of something creative.
If you are already a boss, then when selecting employees you can pay attention to his nose, or rather the wings of his nose. If a person has voluminous nostrils, this means that he can consume large amounts of information at a time and a lot of additional work can be dumped on him, which the person will be happy about, even without additional payment. If you limit such a person in his responsibilities, he will begin to look for tasks on the side. So, you risk losing a good employee.
Also, creative people tend to dominate the right hemisphere of the brain – from the general to the specific. Such people can recognize themselves by the phrase that is often used in solving problems: “It’s approximately clear, but we’ll figure it out.” Thus, intuition, self-esteem, creative thinking and imagination are activated, which ultimately can help you take risks and win more often than strategically prudent people, and help you create something unique and unpredictable. The right hemisphere can talk about the asymmetry of wrinkles on the left side.
“Creative” eyebrows, compared to an accountant’s eyebrows, may have a more disheveled appearance, a natural shape without a clear contour. And in men, eyebrows, thick towards the center and sparse towards the tips, speak of a hidden “idea fixe” of its owner. Elon Musk has this facial feature.
Of course, this is a minimal part of the possibility of physiognomy in professions, but, digging deeper, a competent facial analysis will help you establish yourself and take a leading position in your life’s work.
We see lies
Yes, you can see from the face that a person is not sincere towards you. So, if in a dialogue with you a person purses his lips, he is not allowing himself to say or do something. He can also cover his mouth with his hand and otherwise prevent himself from realizing something hidden. This can also include eyes lowered during the dialogue, so a person hides the truth in his soul or shows shame about the situation. People in dialogue with you may turn away their gaze, in every possible way preventing direct contact with you.
But, an important point, if in a dialogue the partner looks up and to the left, then he remembers something, and the direction of his gaze to the top right is invented. If you asked something related to creative thinking, then the work of the right hemisphere in this case is not considered cheating.
Each of us is by nature a hidden physiognomist. At first glance, we can feel sympathy for a person, his sincerity or intentions. We can see the type of hooligan, criminal or exemplary family man. Physiognomists simply study more deeply, working with such features as: forehead, nose, jaw, their volumes, width and length. Also, eyes, pupils, thickness of eyelashes and the nature of wrinkles.
